Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Better Life With Apps (“we”, “us”) for your use of the Trendshot app and this website. They apply alongside the terms of the store you got the app from. By using Trendshot you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. What Trendshot does

Trendshot turns one selfie into the viral photo trends of the week: a 90s yearbook portrait, an 80s studio shot, a collectible action-figure box, a Y2K digicam flash, a hug with your younger self and about ninety more, with new trends added every week.

You take or pick a selfie of yourself and choose a trend from the catalogue. An AI image model then makes a new picture of you in that trend. You can save the picture, share it, or share a 9:16 before-and-after video of it. The trends in the catalogue change over time.

2. Your account and your age

You must be 18 or over to use Trendshot. The app is not directed at children. The store's age rating for the app describes its content; it does not lower this requirement.

The app creates an account for you the first time you open it. There is no sign-up form, and we do not ask for your name or email address. The account is tied to your device: reinstalling the app on the same device normally brings the same account back, while a new device usually starts a new account. On a new device, Restore purchases reconnects the purchases made with your store account.

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Your data → Delete my data, or by email as described on the deletion page. Deletion cannot be undone: it ends any credits left in the account and deletes your results from our servers. It does not cancel a subscription; cancel that with the store (section 5).

3. AI processing by OpenAI

To make a picture, we send your photos and the trend you picked to OpenAI, which makes the picture on our instructions. Before your first trend the app asks for your permission and names OpenAI; nothing goes to OpenAI and nothing is made until you allow it. You can withdraw that permission at any time under Settings → Privacy → AI processing, and the app then makes no new pictures until you allow it again.

Before a picture is made, an automated check confirms that your selfie shows a face and that the person does not appear to be under 18. A selfie that fails the check is refused and costs no credits. The Privacy Policy explains what OpenAI receives, how long it keeps it, and what we store ourselves.

4. Before you pay

• A new account may come with enough credits for a first result, so that you can see a trend on your own face before you buy anything. This is a one-time allowance for the life of the account; it is not renewed.
• Results you have not paid for carry a visible Made with Trendshot mark, and so do the share videos made from them.
• If you subscribe or buy credits later, the app replaces a marked result with the clean picture for as long as our servers still hold it, which is 30 days after the trend was started.

5. Subscriptions

• Trendshot sells a subscription billed weekly or yearly. It renews automatically until you cancel it.
• You buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The store takes the payment under its own terms; we never see or hold your payment details. Prices are set per country and shown in your local currency.
• Before you buy, the purchase screen shows the plan’s price, its billing period, the credits it gives, that unused plan credits do not carry over, that it renews until you cancel, and how to cancel.
• A subscription gives you credits for each period (section 6) and clean pictures and share videos without the Made with Trendshot mark.
• You cancel with the store, not with us. On iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan and its credits stay until the end of the period you have already paid for.
• Uninstalling the app or deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.

6. Credits

Trends are paid for with credits.

• Price of a trend. The app shows how many credits a trend costs before you start it. We may change the price of future trends. A trend you have already started keeps the price it had when you started it.
• You pay only for what is delivered. A trend’s credits go back to your balance if the photo check refuses your selfie, if the image model fails or times out, if OpenAI refuses or blocks the request, or if the trend cannot be completed for any other reason. One exception: plan credits that come back after their period has ended expire, as they would have anyway.
• A delivered picture is paid for. A delivered picture costs its credits even if you do not like it, and reporting it in the app does not return them. If a picture is faulty, contact us. Your legal rights for faulty digital content are not affected.
• Plan credits are given for each period of your subscription: the weekly plan gives its credits for the week, and the yearly plan releases its credits in monthly instalments and limits how many can be used in any one week. The purchase screen shows these amounts. Unused plan credits do not carry over: they expire when the week or the monthly instalment ends.
• Credit packs are one-time purchases. Credits from a pack do not expire, and neither does a first-result allowance. When you start a trend, plan credits are used first.
• What credits are not. Credits have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, sold, or given to someone else. They belong to your account in the app. If the store moves your purchases to another account of yours, for example when you restore purchases on a new device, your balance moves with them.

7. Refunds

• Refunds are decided by Apple or Google under their own policies. Ask for one through the store you paid. We cannot refund you directly, because the store, not us, took your payment.
• When you ask for a refund, the store may ask us about the purchase. If we answer, our billing provider, RevenueCat, does so on our behalf with information about the purchase and your use of the app, such as how long you have used the app, how much of the purchase you have used, and your purchase and refund history with us, and may add our view on the request. The store makes the decision. By asking the store for a refund, you agree that this information may be shared with it.
• If the store refunds a purchase, we remove the credits that purchase gave you, including credits you have already used. Your balance can go below zero, and while it does you cannot start new trends. If the store reverses the refund, the credits come back.

8. Right of withdrawal

If you live in the EU, the UK or Türkiye, the law may give you a right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content or a digital service within 14 days. You buy from the store, so you exercise that right through the store, under its terms and the law where you live. These terms do not ask you to give up any right of withdrawal the law gives you.

A picture is supplied the moment it is delivered. Under Turkish law, the right of withdrawal does not apply to services performed instantly online or to intangible goods delivered instantly (Distance Contracts Regulation, Art. 15(1)(ğ)); a delivered picture is one of these.

9. AI-generated pictures

Pictures are made by an AI image model that redraws the whole picture. A result is not a photograph of you, and the app marks it as AI-generated. The same selfie and the same trend can give different results.

Results are AI-generated: say so where you post them when the platform or the law asks you to.

Do not present a result as a real photograph of a real event, and do not use it to deceive anyone about who you are or what happened.

10. Acceptable use

Trendshot is for putting your own face into photo trends. You must not:

• upload a selfie of anyone but yourself, unless you have the right to use that person’s photo and they have agreed to it;
• upload a photo of a child, with one exception: a photo of you as a child, in the Hug my younger self trend;
• use the app to impersonate someone, including a public figure, or to make a picture that could be mistaken for a real photo of a real person doing something they did not do;
• upload or make nude or sexual content, content that sexualises anyone, or content that is violent, hateful, harassing, bullying or otherwise illegal;
• use a picture to harass, embarrass or threaten anyone, or as identification or to get past a face or identity check;
• try to get around the photo check, the app’s limits or the image model’s safety systems;
• attack or overload the service, access it other than through the app, or copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it.

OpenAI’s usage policies apply to everything sent through the app, and OpenAI may block a request. A blocked request costs no credits (section 6). You can report a result in the app, and we review every report. We may delete content and suspend or end access for anyone who seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules, or where the law requires it.

11. Your photos and your results

You keep the rights you have in the photos you upload. You allow us to use them only to run the service for you: to receive them, to check them, to send them to OpenAI so a picture can be made, to make your share videos, and to hold them for the time set out in the Privacy Policy. This permission ends when they are deleted from our systems, except for copies the law requires us to keep.

We claim no ownership of the pictures and videos made for you. Any rights we hold in them we transfer to you, and you may use them for personal purposes within these terms. The trends are styles many people use, so other users get pictures in the same style, and whether an AI-generated picture is protected by copyright depends on the law where you are.

Save what you want to keep. We delete the photos, pictures and videos of a trend from our servers 30 days after the trend was started, or sooner if you delete the result. After that we cannot restore them.

12. The app and its content

The app, including its software, design, name, the trend catalogue and the example pictures in it, belongs to Better Life With Apps or its licensors. The people in the example pictures are generated; they are not real people. Nothing in these terms lets you copy, sell or reuse the app, its name or its branding.

If you got the app from the App Store, your licence to use it is Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms apply. These terms add the rules for the service, credits and pictures. If they conflict with Apple’s agreement about the licence itself, Apple’s agreement prevails. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and are not responsible for the app, its content or its support; we are.

13. Availability and limits

We work to keep Trendshot running, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or that every trend will succeed. A trend that fails costs no credits (section 6).

We may pause parts of the service, such as photo uploads or a particular trend, for safety, legal or technical reasons. We also limit how many trends you can make in a period and how many can run at the same time, so the service stays available to everyone. These limits apply with a subscription too; no plan is unlimited. A trend stopped by such a limit costs nothing.

We add, change and retire trends over time, and we may change the image model. If a change significantly reduces what a paid plan gives you, you can cancel the plan with the store, and your legal rights also apply. If we decide to stop offering the app, we will announce it on this website in advance.

14. What we promise

We provide Trendshot with reasonable care and skill, as described in these terms and on the purchase screen. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights when digital content or a digital service is faulty or not as described, and nothing in these terms limits them.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, the app and the pictures are provided “as is”. We make no other promise, express or implied, that a picture will look like you, be accurate, be unique to you, or be free of other people’s rights.

15. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for harm caused intentionally or through gross negligence, or any other liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss that could not reasonably have been foreseen, for what others do with a picture or video you shared, or for results lost after they were deleted from our servers.

16. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Trendshot at any time. To end a subscription, cancel it with the store (section 5); to close your account, delete it (section 2).

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the app. Where we can, we will tell you why. If we end your access for a reason that is not your fault, you keep any right the law gives you to a refund for paid credits or plan time you could not use.

Sections 7, 11, 12, 14, 15 and 17, and the part of section 6 that explains what credits are not, continue to apply after the agreement ends.

17. Disputes and your consumer rights

If something goes wrong, write to us first at support@blwapps.com; most problems are quickest to fix that way. Doing so does not stop you from going to a court or a consumer body.

If you use Trendshot as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim before the courts where you live.

Consumers in Türkiye can apply to the consumer arbitration committee (tüketici hakem heyeti) where they live or where the purchase was made for disputes below the amount set each year, and to the consumer court (tüketici mahkemesi) for larger disputes, after the mediation the law requires.

18. Changes to these terms

We update these terms when the app, the law or the store rules change. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. We announce changes that materially affect you on this page before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using the app and cancel your subscription before the change applies to you. A change never takes away rights you have by law.

If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply to that use.
